Your Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager Customer Projects to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for initiating, leading, and executing strategic and large-scale operational initiatives within the ZEISS Shared Production Unit to meet requirements from internal and external customers, e.g., product ramp-ups, launches of new products, production transfers, and economic optimizations. You will be accountable for the successful execution of these projects in alignment with customer expectations and act as the main contact for ZEISS internal and external customers, including senior management.

Identify, scope, structure, and lead strategic and operational projects in collaboration with ZEISS Strategic Business Units, external customers, and the Shared Production Unit team.

Serve as the primary contact for all projects, ensuring their successful delivery and representing them to internal and external stakeholders.

Manage projects to ensure successful outcomes.

Bring innovative, outside-the-box thinking to find optimal solutions in a multi-stakeholder environment.

Your Profile

Hold an academic degree with excellent final grades in sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics, economics, or a related field.

Have 7+ years of practical experience in management consulting, project management, corporate strategy, operations, or sales/key account management in ZEISS-related industries.

Possess a proven track record in customer-facing roles (e.g., consulting, sales, key account management).

Have previous experience in operations, production engineering, or R&D within ZEISS-related industries.

Demonstrate strong entrepreneurial and strategic thinking, with a solution-oriented mindset.

Have a history of managing complex projects within a matrix organization.

Possess experience in strategic functions, showcasing analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Ability to effectively collaborate across all organizational levels and achieve alignment in complex stakeholder environments.

Exhibit strong lateral leadership skills.

Fluent in English and German.
