Institut für Klinische Neuroimmunologie Scope of duties

The newly established Systems Neuroimmunology Laboratory at LMU Munich is seeking a motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher passionate about combining neuroimmunology and advanced computational approaches, including artificial intelligence (AI), to unravel the mechanisms driving neuroimmunologic diseases.

Your responsibilities:

  • Plan and perform innovative large-scale experiments bridging human patient samples and cutting-edge AI-driven analyses
  • Validate computational findings through functional laboratory experiments
  • Develop and optimize protocols involving omics methods, immune cell assays, flow cytometry, and gene editing techniques
  • Collaborate closely with biologists, clinicians, and data scientists within a highly interdisciplinary environment
  • Contribute to publications and presentations at international conferences

Our requirements

  • Completed PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Immunology, or related field
  • Strong interest in computational science and AI (prior formal training not required)
  • Experience with immunological methods (flow cytometry, qPCR, functional assays, CRISPR / Cas9 gene editing) is beneficial
  • Familiarity with omics and sequencing technologies (e.g. scRNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, TCR / BCR sequencing, ChIP-Seq) is advantageous
  • Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and creativity
