Vice President - Legal Counsel Employment Law (gn)

For our client, a leading global universal bank with its European headquarters in Frankfurt, we are currently looking for a Vice President - Legal Counsel (gn).

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide appropriate and commercially sound legal advice to manage the Bank’s legal risks related to employment law and litigation.
  2. Ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations concerning employment law and remuneration.
  3. Offer timely and pragmatic advice to HR and Legal functions within the EU on employment law matters.
  4. Maintain consistency and efficiency in the legal advice provided to internal stakeholders.
  5. Manage and reduce costs for external counsel by providing internal advice and managing external counsel efficiently.
Qualifications:
  • Legal education including 1st and 2nd German Bar Exam, with employment law qualification (Fachanwalt für Arbeitsrecht); knowledge of and experience with French employment law is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the financial sector, gained in a law firm, in-house at a financial institution, or an international corporation, focusing on complex employment law cases, drafting relevant documentation, policies, procedures, performance management, and restructuring.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding of cross-cultural aspects in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers and collaborate with stakeholders across various corporate levels in international and complex organizations.
  • Business proficiency in German and English.
