ABOUT THE ROLE

The VP M&A is responsible for managing all acquisitions and divestitures within Essity globally. You will develop and implement the M&A strategy, collaborate with Business Units, and report to the CFO. The role involves overseeing a company with EUR 13 billion in revenue and around 36,000 employees worldwide.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

1. Propose M&A strategies based on thorough business evaluations.
2. Lead the M&A process, including negotiations.
3. Align M&A activities with corporate strategy by working with senior management and stakeholders.
4. Oversee acquisitions and divestitures, ensuring standards and risk management, in collaboration with legal, tax, technical, and environmental experts.
5. Prepare and advise on key figures and material for stakeholders and the Board.
6. Lead and develop the M&A team in terms of structure and people.
7. Provide expert advice to other functions and management.
8. Drive the M&A agenda proactively, identifying opportunities and strategic initiatives.

WHO YOU ARE

• Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation, and financial modeling.
• Ability to identify investment opportunities, assess risks, and make decisions.
• Experience in developing and executing M&A strategies.
• Skilled in identifying targets and evaluating their fit.
• Effective negotiation skills with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with legal aspects of M&A, including contracts, due diligence, and compliance, and understanding of antitrust laws.
• Proactive, business-minded, with a commercial outlook.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams through due diligence, integration, and post-merger phases.
• Ability to articulate complex ideas to executives and external parties.
• Dynamic, sociable, relationship-builder, and proactive.
• Fluent in English.

Position is based in Stockholm, Sweden, but can be located at any major Essity location in Europe.
