Job Description

Tipico is looking for a Cloud and Application Engineer (m/f/x) to join our team. Grow with us, introduce us to new ideas, and develop products that maximize the thrill of sports for our customers. You will work in a highly collaborative and agile environment with cross-functional team members to develop products and create technical solutions that push us forward.

Your responsibilities:

1. Planning, designing, and monitoring services in the AWS cloud to ensure optimal reliability, security, and availability, including managing automation tasks around containerized applications in Kubernetes.
2. Operating and developing using managed services in the AWS Cloud (EKS, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, S3, Lambda, Kafka MSK, EC2, ECS, etc.).
3. Researching new market trends and exploring how to benefit from their implementation in our environment.
4. Experimenting with new technologies to improve daily operations.
5. Designing infrastructure as code (IaC) environments in conjunction with CI/CD workflows.
6. Engaging in a flexible environment focused on continuous service improvement.
7. Automating routine tasks to increase efficiency.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent, or 4+ years of professional experience in cloud system engineering.
2. Production experience with AWS, Terraform (IaC), Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure design, implementation, and operation.
3. Solid knowledge in designing, setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise-level systems.
4. Hands-on scripting and automation experience (Python, Go, etc.).
5. Strong troubleshooting skills with a logical approach to problem resolution.
6. Vendor certifications (AWS) or similar are advantageous; experience in Java-based development is a plus.
7. Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage.
