In agile teams, we develop innovative digital solutions for BASF and its customers, create new exciting customer experiences and business growth, and drive efficiencies in processes. We provide IT that works and offer know-how and access to the latest technologies in cloud computing, blockchain, and big data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are the team Production Artificial Intelligence - Advanced Data Analytics, providing BASF-wide solutions across multiple application areas within production. We cover the entire model lifecycle from development, training, to deployment and operation. You will act as a driving force in our interdisciplinary team, creating innovative solutions with our internal business partners.

• Support AI projects from ideation, prototypes, until commissioning, service, and support during runtime.
• Identify needs of internal colleagues and translate them into software specifications; manage and drive development.
• Develop new concepts, models, and solutions applying state-of-the-art data science concepts using cutting-edge frameworks and technologies, driving solutions to production readiness.
• Upscale and manage services globally, e.g., Condition Monitoring, Computer Vision, Generative AI.
• Manage service adjustments smoothly during software and solution updates, maintaining and reviewing services at BASF.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's or PhD in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, natural sciences, or IT focusing on data-driven applications.
• Working knowledge in developing complex data science software solutions, preferably cloud-based applications.
• Good knowledge in machine learning with Python, (graph-)databases, and experience with cloud technology (Microsoft Azure).
• Familiar with technologies around Computer Vision, Generative AI, and analytics for sensor/time-series data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German, effective in team settings.
• Ideally experience with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and DevOps concepts.
• Creative, motivated working style with a focus on innovation and customer needs.
