Software Engineer / Software Architect for Automotive Production Systems (all genders), Augsburg

This position is located in Augsburg, Germany, within our Automotive Technology business, which specializes in high-tech automotive components and systems. We are a global company with over 20,000 employees, focusing on chassis technologies, powertrain components, and lightweight car body parts, contributing to the future of mobility with innovations in autonomous driving, connectivity, and electrification.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design communication between control units and test modules during product industrialization projects.
  2. Conceive and implement new test and production processes across worldwide test modules.
  3. Define modular software architectures to ensure scalability, maintainability, and reusability of production systems.
  4. Develop and implement security architectures for networked production systems in collaboration with IT security teams.
  5. Develop software and integrate bus systems (CAN, FR, LIN, etc.) into automated test modules and production systems.
  6. Design and develop validation measures, including automated software and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing processes.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with software architecture, object-oriented programming (preferably Python), and modular software design.
  • Practical experience in cybersecurity, including threat modeling, encryption, and authentication.
  • Knowledge of bus systems (CAN, FlexRay, LIN, etc.), software development processes, and architectures.
  • Fluent in English, with willingness to travel internationally (up to 10%).
