Job Description:

The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Senior Applied Scientist with a strong deep learning background to build industry-leading Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technology with Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal systems.

Key job responsibilities:

• As a Senior Applied Scientist with the AGI team, you will work with talented peers to lead and own hands-on development of novel algorithms and modeling techniques, to advance the state of the art with LLMs.
• Your work will directly impact our customers through products and services utilizing speech and language technology.
• You will leverage Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate advances in spoken language understanding.

About the team:

The AGI team aims to push the boundaries in GenAI with LLMs and multimodal systems to provide the best customer experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD, or Master's degree with 5+ years of applied research experience
• 3+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or related
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
• Strong experience with GenAI LLMs and multimodal systems
• Experience with patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch
