Research Associate for the Project “Quantifying Dynamical Regimes in the Ocean and the Atmosphere” (a part of the project “Energy transfer in the Atmosphere and Ocean” TRR181) § 28 Subsection 3 HmbHG
Salary level: To be specified
Start date: 01.01.2025, fixed until 30.06.2028 (This is a fixed-term contract in accordance with Section 2 of the academic fixed-term labor contract act [Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG]).
Scope of work: Full-time position, suitable for part-time
Your responsibilities: Duties include academic services in the project. Research associates may pursue independent research and further academic qualifications. Responsibilities involve analysis of atmospheric energy budgets, quantification of non-hydrostatic effects in km-scale models, and dissemination of results through publications and conferences.
Your profile: A university degree in a relevant field, plus doctorate. PhD in physical sciences preferred, with experience in atmospheric or Earth system models, scientific programming, and publication record. Teamwork and communication skills are essential.
