For the winter term of 2025/26, we are seeking a professor (m/f/d) for Mathematics and Statistics at IU International University, limited to 2 years at our campus in Berlin, full-time (5 days on campus) or part-time (4 days on campus), starting on October 1st, 2025.
- You represent the field of Mathematics and Statistics in teaching and research within different bachelor degree programs and become part of an extensive network in the field of higher education.
- You develop and lead face-to-face lectures on campus and are responsible for the individual supervision of students during exams and thesis preparation.
- You teach practice-oriented fundamental knowledge in Mathematics and Statistics and train students in areas such as (Advanced) Statistics, Inferential Statistics, Business Mathematics, Analysis, and Linear Algebra.
- You contribute to the creative development of teaching formats within IU’s didactic concept and collaborate closely with colleagues to further develop these formats.
Your Profile
- You hold a university degree in Mathematics or a related field with outstanding academic performance and a relevant doctoral degree (Ph.D.).
- You have at least five years of practical work experience, including three years outside university, and may have initial experience in academic teaching.
- You demonstrate expertise through publications or projects.
- You are team-oriented, reliable, and committed to in-person teaching while being proficient in virtual lectures.
- You reside permanently in Germany.
- You have English skills at C1 level of the CEFR.
The employment requirements are governed by the Higher Education Law Thüringen.
