Job Summary:

Under supervision, a Laboratory Technician sets up and operates test equipment, performs routine tests, disassembles and reassembles samples, records data, and assists with complex tests under senior staff guidance.

  1. Collaborate with other technicians to complete projects on time and within budget.
  2. Set up and operate test equipment, perform tests, determine compliance, and recommend certification.
  3. Follow work orders, conduct routine tests independently, and assist with complex tests.
  4. Record data and draft test reports.
  5. Perform calculations, analyze results, and relate findings to product specifications.
  6. Assemble/disassemble samples and prepare laboratory equipment for testing.
  7. Identify and report product features that deviate from standards.
  8. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory and equipment.
  9. Ensure quality and calibration of lab instruments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical Certificate or equivalent education and experience.
  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or related field.
  • Knowledge of standards, electrical codes, circuits, and troubleshooting electronics.
  • Experience with measurement instruments like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and analyzers.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and test data.
  • Understanding of laboratory procedures and instrumentation calibration.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
