LocalEyes is recruiting a German translator to translate, localise, and transcreate IT and Marketing content.

Job Details

• Position: German Translator based in Germany - Remote
• Field of expertise: IT and Marketing translation
• Location: Home-office from Germany

Candidate Requirements

• Native in target language with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation or similar
• IT skilled with knowledge and experience of SDL Studio and CAT tools
• 3-5 years experience in the localization of consumer communications for a major IT account or global, high-end luxury retail brands
• Extensive experience in marketing translation of mass media at localization agency, advertising/PR agency, production company, corporate marketing communications department, publishing company or similar
• Proven editorial and/or journalistic skills and up-to-date with language and terminology trends
• Quality-driven and detail-oriented with an understanding of how to deliver quality creative copy and its impact
• Excellent written and spoken English to truly understand the meaning and translate as if it were originally written in target language
• Well familiar with US American culture and pop culture to recognize the author's play on words or visual references, and able to adequately localize into target language
• Obsessed with detail and passionate about languages
• Flexible work ethic, willing to work beyond conventional hours, including some weekends, and across different time zones
• Understanding of dynamics between client and vendor
• Ability to work within a confidential environment
• Able to work in a fast-paced, demanding creative and production environment with multiple project priorities and tight deadlines
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Available to travel as required
• Knowledge of Mac and iPhone technologies is a distinct advantage

In this role, you will work as part of a dynamic team in an international environment. Responsibilities include marketing and IT translations, linguistic review and QA, and managing terminology consistency through TMs, glossaries, and style guides to ensure quality of deliverables.
