This role is based in Kaiserslautern, RP. Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business ensures we fulfill and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers receive their items on time. As an Area Manager, you will ensure your site runs smoothly to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that maintains safety, efficiency, and high quality, and you will manage various projects across our network to drive productivity.

2. Analyze and implement changes to maintain high quality and productivity
3. Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and enhance service quality within your area
4. Assess shift performance against business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence
5. Collaborate with management colleagues to standardize shift practices

A day in the life

You will work at one of our sites, focusing on maximizing productivity. Your main responsibilities include fostering a safety culture, maintaining quality and shift standards, overseeing process improvements, and implementing changes. Your day will be varied, from team management and daily operations to process improvement and contingency tasks. You will also mentor new managers.

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) handles last-mile delivery in partnership with third-party couriers. We focus on innovative delivery solutions to enhance customer experience, including Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants. Our team is people-focused, supporting employees working night shifts, with operations running 24/7. We also collaborate with Amazon Flex, a network of delivery contractors, to expand our reach. We continually seek new ways to overcome logistics challenges and reduce our carbon footprint through innovative vehicle technologies, including electric vehicles.

• Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders, including peers and leadership
• Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence decisions
• Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English
• Basic proficiency in German and willingness to learn quickly
