Who are we looking for?

The Supply Chain team at Element Solutions aims to strengthen our market position by optimizing manufacturing, purchasing, sourcing, quality, and regulatory functions. The Manager of Customs & Trade will ensure compliance with all relevant customs and trade regulations, including AEO standards. Success depends on proactive planning and leadership in compliance practices.

What will you be doing?

• Manage audit requests by coordinating with operations, customs, legal, finance, and other functions, addressing audit failures, and identifying root causes.
• Implement and oversee a compliance framework, including a Customs Trade Handbook, for import and export managers.
• Identify and apply cost-optimization strategies such as tariff reviews and inward processing.
• Build relationships with regulatory agencies and external administrators.
• Collaborate with transportation, logistics, sourcing, and purchasing teams to align strategies and performance metrics.
• Ensure access to the latest regulatory resources for customs practitioners.
• Manage recordkeeping for imports and exports.
• Determine tariff classifications for new products and export controls, including license requirements and sanctions.
• Lead efforts to acquire AEO certification.

Who are You?

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in customs management or similar roles.
• Deep understanding of customs regulations and procedures.
• Experience in auditing, process improvement, and project management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with customs software and Microsoft Office.
