Who we are ...
Our primary focuses at Fraunhofer IWES are on wind energy and hydrogen technologies. Our institute is home to more than 300 scientists and employees as well as over 100 students from over 30 countries pursuing careers in applied research and development at nine sites. We secure investments in technological developments through validation, shorten innovation cycles, accelerate certification procedures, and increase planning accuracy by means of innovative measurement methods.

Our research fields are diverse. You can contribute to the development of test benches for large wind turbine components, perform tests, or measure electrical properties. You might get involved in material testing or automation of processes. If you prefer field testing, you can run measurement campaigns on wind turbines or investigate offshore subsoil. If simulation interests you, you can run simulations of wind farm sites. For those interested in hydrogen, conducting electrochemical investigations of electrolysis and fuel cell components is an option. We collaborate with industry and research institutes on national and international projects, offering exciting opportunities. We encourage you to share your interests if they differ from the listed areas, as our fields are diverse and collaborative.
We welcome candidates with a background in Engineering or Natural Sciences. Professionals with qualifications in electrical, IT, or commercial fields are also suitable. Experience with wind energy or hydrogen technologies is a plus. Knowledge of German and English will facilitate your work in our international environment.

Positions are limited, with durations between 2 to 3 years, and a weekly working time of 39 hours. Part-time options are available. Compensation is based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD), with potential performance-based bonuses.
