Jobbeschreibung

We are tackling global plastic pollution and you will be a part of the solution!

At traceless, we are not just addressing global plastic pollution; we are leading the charge to eradicate it. Our groundbreaking technology transforms agricultural byproducts into a pioneering sustainable biomaterial—biobased, plastic-free, and fully compostable. This revolutionary material leaves no harmful traces on our planet. We are looking for a visionary Project Engineer to accelerate our journey from pilot to prominence.

Your Role: Catalyzing Change from Pilot to Plant

As a Project Engineer in Process Technology & Plant Construction, you will be instrumental in scaling our technology from a pilot setup to a full-scale industrial facility. Your expertise in plant engineering and process development will drive innovative solutions that position traceless as a leader in compostable biomaterials. You will design main process steps by scaling up from our pilot plant process.

Your Impact:
  1. Engineering Excellence: Design and refine main process steps transitioning from pilot to industrial scale.
  2. Risk Assessment: Support HAZOP studies and evaluate safety measures, especially regarding explosion prevention. Familiarity with SIL and TRGS is required. Understand the responsibilities that come with plant construction.
  3. Strategic Documentation: Develop comprehensive process flow diagrams (P&IDs) and layout plans that set the foundation for scalable operations.
  4. Sustainability Analysis: Evaluate the environmental impact of process designs, focusing on minimizing resource and energy consumption.
  5. Technical Assessment: Design, plan, and lead experiments to evaluate suitable machinery. Focus on determining smart input and output parameters. Support operations during trials.
  6. Cost Management: Provide accurate estimates and manage investment costs for critical plant components.
  7. Operational Support: Assist in the installation of production plants and train staff for smooth operations and maintenance.
  8. Project Implementation: Collaborate in planning, designing, and implementing the construction of traceless's first industrial plant.
Where You'll Make a Difference:

Enjoy a dynamic work environment blending startup vibrancy with cutting-edge technology at our TechHub in Hamburg-Harburg, the ISI center in Buchholz. Alternatively, work remotely or engage directly at upcoming international production sites.

Your Profile
  • Educational Background: Degree in (bio)process engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field, or qualification as a technician or construction engineer with experience in construction & project management.
  • Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of wet chemical processes and/or biomass production, with at least 7 years in plant design and engineering. Clear communication of your expertise and boundaries is essential.

Plant Engineering Enthusiast: Deep understanding of plant engineering projects, capable of immersing yourself to identify needs and coordinate with the engineering team. Broad understanding of plant engineering is expected due to lean personnel structure.

  • Project Management: Experience leading projects with initiative and innovation, capable of handling complex challenges to successful completion.
  • Plant Design: Ability to realize production plant ideas in flow diagrams and 3D/2D layout plans (with CAD support or independently). Fluent in R&I and familiar with Navisworks.
  • Expertise in ATEX: Several years of experience in explosion prevention.
  • Self-initiated Driver: Ability to take initiative, identify topics, and take responsibility to achieve results within deadlines. Active communication and feedback-seeking are vital.
  • Team Player: Excellent interpersonal skills, a good sense of humor, and willingness to undertake necessary but unpopular tasks.
  • Sustainability Assessment: Ability to evaluate process designs for resource and energy efficiency, striving for continuous improvement.
  • Problem-solving & Responsibility: Creative, solution-oriented approach, ownership of projects, and early challenge communication.
  • Practical Skills: Hands-on approach, engaging directly with processes to optimize results.
  • Expectation Management: Clear communication about support areas and capability to adjust expectations through questions.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and German, capable of communicating complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Time & Conflict Management: Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and resolve conflicts constructively.
