It is used for energy transmission over long distances, connecting electricity networks with minimal losses, and alleviating electricity quality issues. HVDC is essential for offshore wind power and underwater transmissions, making it the only realistic energy transmission alternative for such applications.

The opportunity

As a Software Engineer, you will join our Global HVDC Control & Protection Software team within the system supervision & communication department. Our team handles Converter Control, Protection, System Solutions, Sequence & Interlocking, System Supervision & Communication, Auxiliary Power Systems, and Simulation & Verification.

How you'll make an impact

  • Participate in all phases of software delivery, including design, maintenance, testing, integration, verification, and deployment.
  • Ensure the safe and reliable operation of plants and transmission links, with opportunities for international travel for commissioning and customer meetings.
  • Contribute to documentation and customer training sessions.
  • Take responsibility and ownership of your work, planning and organizing your tasks effectively.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to solve challenges proactively.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, High Voltage, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • Fluent in spoken and written German and English.
  • Experience in software development and programming.
  • Interest or experience in digital control technology, signal processing, and filtering.
  • Interest or experience in the electric power industry.
