Join Our Team as a Junior Fellow in Germany

You'll join one of our offices in Germany as a Junior Fellow. Fellows join our offices around the world to work in teams and directly with our clients.

When you join McKinsey as a Fellow, you become part of a firm that challenges you and invests heavily in your professional development. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with top organizations across the private, public, and social sectors, helping solve some of their most complex problems. You will collaborate with a diverse range of experts, including data scientists, researchers, and software and app designers.

You will work in teams of typically 3–5 consultants, actively participating in all aspects of client engagement. This includes gathering and analyzing data, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You will also present results to client management and collaborate with client team members to implement solutions.

We provide exceptional training, along with frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues. This support includes guidance from a Partner in your local office or practice to help guide your career, as well as several weeks of formal training during your first two years. Additionally, your local office or practice will assist in selecting client projects to help you develop your skills and expand your professional network.

While all consultants develop specialized knowledge over time, most start with a broad focus, not requiring specific industry or functional expertise initially. For experienced professionals joining McKinsey, this can mean building on previous knowledge or gaining new, diverse experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Undergraduate or master’s degree, or 1–3 years of work experience after completing your undergraduate degree
• Outstanding academic achievement
• Aptitude for analytics
• Proven leadership in work or extracurricular activities
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Effective communication skills in English and the local office language(s), both verbal and written
