This senior sales leader will focus on acquiring and managing relationships with large shipping companies, driving significant revenue growth by delivering high-value IoT solutions for asset visibility and tracking.

While this is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Global Sales, you will collaborate with a talented global and local team and enjoy the autonomy and comfort of remote work.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Revenue Growth: Drive aggressive growth in sales and meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets for IoT hardware and software services in the maritime sector.
  2. Strategic Account Acquisition: Identify, engage, and close high-value deals with large shipping companies, positioning our solutions as critical to their operations and supply chain efficiency.
  3. Value-Based Selling: Lead sales strategies by demonstrating the tangible ROI and value of IoT solutions, articulating complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Sales Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for large maritime accounts, including account-based selling tactics and potential partnerships.
  5. Market Intelligence & Customer Insights: Act as the voice of the customer, providing feedback on customer needs, market trends, and competitive threats.
  6. Collaborative Leadership: Work with product, marketing, and pre-sales teams to refine offerings, ensure smooth handoffs, and support customer success.
  7. Reporting & Forecasting: Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and account insights to leadership.

Who You Are:

You’re a strategic thinker with sales excellence, capable of managing multiple priorities. If you have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related fields; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years in B2B sales with a record of closing large deals, preferably in software services focusing on supply chain visibility or related technologies.
  • Domain knowledge: Deep understanding of maritime and supply chain dynamics, with experience selling to shipping lines or large logistics companies.
  • Hunter Mentality: Proven success in identifying new business opportunities, building relationships, and closing complex deals.
  • Value Selling: Success in consultative, value-based selling of software and services, with clear communication of ROI.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with experience building and leading sales teams in high-growth environments.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze market trends, competitors, and customer feedback to inform strategy.

Nice-to-have Skills:

  • Global Sales Experience: Familiarity with international sales complexities and decision-making in multinational shipping lines.
  • Technical Knowledge of IoT and Networking Technologies: Understanding of IoT hardware, network protocols (e.g., GSM, LoRa, 5G, satellite), and data analytics in maritime logistics.
  • Experience with Long Sales Cycles: Ability to manage and nurture long, complex enterprise sales processes.
