Job Description:

Arup is expanding its Energy operations in Europe to support the rapid energy transition. We focus on Hydrogen as a key enabler for decarbonising heavy industry, power grids, and transport using Hydrogen-derived fuels.

Our projects include Hydrogen production, distribution, and usage in industry and transport, developing refuelling stations, gas networks, storage solutions, and energy islands. We also work on derived products like E-methanol, E-ammonia, and Synthetic Aviation Fuels, aiming to deliver these safely, sustainably, economically, and effectively.

Position:

Senior Process / Chemical Engineer

You will be responsible for project management and technical leadership on hydrogen-focused projects, collaborating closely with clients and planning teams. Location options include Düsseldorf (preferred), Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, or Copenhagen, with flexible remote work options.

Your role in our team:
  • Collaborate within international multidisciplinary design and consulting teams
  • Support team building and management
  • Participate in tendering, contracting, and project management
  • Contribute as a process engineering specialist to solve business challenges
  • Prepare reports and project deliverables
  • Represent Arup with clients and stakeholders
  • Ensure safe, sustainable, compliant, and technically sound process engineering deliverables
Your ideal profile:

  • Degree in chemical or process engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with hydrogen production and usage
  • Over 5 years in process development in related sectors
  • Leadership in large-scale projects
  • Knowledge of standards, regulations
  • Willingness to travel in Germany and abroad
  • Fluent in German and English (other locations: native language)
