SALES ASSOCIATE

Supervisor: Store Manager

Job Description

The Sales Associate is responsible for performing general sales duties in their assigned department and assisting in other areas of the store as needed. They should display a helpful, friendly attitude towards all customers to make Theisen’s the best in the industry. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting customers, helping them find the correct merchandise, explaining benefits and features, and maintaining the store's appearance. They may also operate cash registers and perform general upkeep tasks.

Qualifications

Job Duties

1. Approach customers storewide, offer assistance, and guide them to merchandise
2. Explain product benefits and features, suggest add-ons
3. Maintain knowledge of all products, with expertise in specific areas if needed
4. Compute price quotes, process orders, provide contact info, and follow up on special orders
5. Answer phone and customer inquiries
6. Practice security measures
7. Assist with checkout and carryout services
8. Ensure shelf tags are accurate, organize merchandise, and set up displays
9. Receive and check merchandise shipments
10. Remove packaging, match stock numbers, and price merchandise
11. Restock shelves, assemble products, and process interstore transfers
12. Perform cleaning duties to maintain store appearance
13. Ensure store meets brand standards
14. Assist with additional tasks such as inventory, unloading trucks, and running registers as requested

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Basic math skills
• High integrity and business ethics
• Ability to answer phones and operate cash registers
• Forklift and pallet jack knowledge is a plus

Must have a positive attitude, good listening skills, and an outgoing personality.

Physical Demands

Includes lifting up to 25 lbs. frequently, occasional lifting over 50 lbs., walking, standing, bending, reaching, and handling objects. Must work flexible shifts including nights and weekends. Vision and manual dexterity are required for operating equipment and performing tasks.

Work Environment and Conditions

Primarily inside, with some outside work in various weather conditions. The environment can be fast-paced with deadlines, noise, and hazards. Protective equipment may be required.

Store Locations: Vary by location, typically 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Mon-Sat, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sun
