THE ROLE :

To help us lead the future of commercial aircraft modification in Boeing EASA Modifications we are seeking applicants for a Part 21 Electrical / Avionics Engineer (EASA Modifications Hamburg) (M / F / D) to join our rapidly expanding bestinclass team. We will support you to develop your already substantial skills and encourage you to reach your career goals.

The successful candidate will analyze define and generate the documentation for the certification of complex large aircraft modifications for our global airline partners to demonstrate compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements and procedures defined in the companys Design Organization Handbook (DOH).

You will work closely with segment experts Office of Airworthiness and Authorities to ensure guideline understanding design strategy and certification.

This role is based in our BGS EASA Modifications site in Hamburg Germany. Hybrid working options are available. Travel to other sites is expected with occasional international travel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Reporting to the Electrical / Avionics Engineering Manager and working with the global engineering services team across multiple timezones in order to identify requirements and their associated solutions for active and upcoming projects.
  • Contribute to (and lead) design activities to ensure compliance with design requirements and address certification and design / integration issues relating to electrical / avionic equipment and systems changes as part of large aircraft modifications.
  • Be a subjectmatter expert in at least one electrical area of compliance within part 21J DOA.
  • Having extensive experience of part 21G POA and MRO process and regulations that interface with part 21J DOA for the purpose of A / C modification.
  • Having extensive experience in the preparation and compilation of engineering documentation and instructions for continued airworthiness including :
  • Wire routing installation drawings and harness fabrication drawings.
  • Service Bulletins / accomplishment instructions.
  • Aircraft and component manual ICA supplements including wiring diagram manuals system schematic manuals and EWIS assessments.
  • Guide the less experienced engineer in the compilation of certification documents to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical systems related airworthiness requirements including :

Electrical load analysis documents.

  • Test plans and reports.
  • Compliance Statements.
  • System Safety Equipment Qualification and EWIS documents.
  • Compliance checklists.
  • Certification programs.
  • As a lead be responsible for electrical engineering unitwide process development contribute to establishment and maintenance of engineering strategy.
  • Act as Boeing key representative during customer meetings such as ITCM PDR CDR and FAI in support of active and upcoming projects. Provide additional onsite support to assist the customers during the embodiment phase of the project.

This role will require occasional national and / or international travel to visit teammates customers and subcontractors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelors Degree within Electrical / Avionics or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Minimum two years relevant experience within an EASA Design Organisation (or equivalent).

PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE :

  • Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry specifically working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Able to demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO CS25 JAR25 and FAR25 requirements (relevant to the electrical / avionics discipline).
  • Knowledge and experience of aircraft equipment qualifications and avionic modifications aircraft integrations.
  • A high level of attention to detail and professional integrity.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and show flexibility to changing situations / demands.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers to embody the core values of the business : Honesty Integrity and Transparency.
  • Willing and able to help develop mentor and coach less experienced staff.
  • Previous experience as an EASA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE).
  • 7 years relevant experience within an EASA Design Organisation (or equivalent).
