For the expansion of our Business Information Systems (BIS) team, argenx is looking for a Data Governance Lead with focus on the Commercial and Medical Affairs functions.

The Data Governance Lead establishes, deploys, and enforces policies and procedures for end-to-end data governance to ensure proper data use and maintenance. The role involves working closely with technical/system architecture teams to define operational processes for monitoring compliance, and coordinating data stewards to address data quality issues. The goal is to promote efficient, accurate records and effective information management across argenx, leveraging a deep understanding of the data environment and stakeholder collaboration.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the integrity, usability, and security of all data assets.
2. Ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards.
3. Document policies following best practices.
4. Collaborate with data stewards to identify, address, and track data quality issues and remediation efforts.
5. Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance compliance and data quality.
6. Implement data quality monitoring and improvement measures aligned with business thresholds.
7. Guide data stewards in monitoring activities and reporting enterprise-wide data quality metrics.
8. Establish governance mechanisms to manage cross-team dependencies effectively.
9. Support deployment activities, including maintaining an up-to-date data catalog and ensuring consistent data definitions.
10. Stay informed about industry best practices to deploy innovative solutions.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

1. 8-10 years of experience in a biopharmaceutical company or consulting organization within the life sciences sector.
2. At least 5 years in a data management capacity.
3. Strong analytical skills with a history of leveraging data to optimize business decisions; strategic and hands-on approach.
4. Thorough knowledge of data governance, data quality methods, storage repositories, and tools.
5. Experience designing and deploying automated data quality tools (e.g., RPA for automating repetitive tasks).
6. Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) and cataloging solutions (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
7. Understanding of industry regulations such as GxP, HIPAA, GDPR.
8. Ability to work closely with team members to develop analytical and reporting solutions.
