Research Associate in Precision Sarcoma Research at the German Cancer Research Center

The Precision Sarcoma Research group at DKFZ and the National Center for Tumor Diseases Heidelberg, led by Dr. Priya Chudasama, is seeking a Research Associate to join our international and inclusive team. Our focus is on rare, aggressive tumors called bone and soft-tissue sarcomas, utilizing computational and functional genomics to understand tumor biology and identify new treatments. Your Tasks
  • Support ongoing research projects, collaborating closely with team members and external partners.
  • Handle lab management and coordination duties.
  • Analyze sequencing data to identify genomic alterations (bioinformatics expertise preferred).
  • Perform molecular biology techniques such as cloning, sequencing, and mutagenesis.
  • Conduct cell culture work, including transfections and assays.
  • Utilize flow cytometry and cell sorting.
  • Detect proteins via western blot, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence.
  • Document and present research findings in meetings and conferences.
  • Plan and coordinate projects independently, interpret results, and develop new methods.
  • Communicate with collaborators and manage laboratory logistics.
Your Profile
  • Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Extensive experience with cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
  • Programming skills in R and Python; sequencing data analysis experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to support multiple projects and sites.
  • Team-oriented, motivated, and reliable.
  • Excellent English communication skills; German is beneficial but not required.
