For our Group Credit Risk Assessment team at ProCredit Holding in Frankfurt am Main, we are seeking a motivated Credit Risk Specialist (m/f/d) — Specialist in Renewable Energy Project Financing and MSME lending.
This position is based in Frankfurt at ProCredit Holding, the parent company of our banking group. The team is responsible for assessing and managing risks from lending proposals to Micro and SME customers and private individuals, reviewing key deals, and defining assessment methodologies. It collaborates closely with the Credit Risk Portfolio Analysis and Credit Risk Quantification Teams within the Group Credit Risk Management Team.
- Manage a specific country and portfolio, influence credit strategy by assessing key deals, and liaise with subsidiary banks, management, and local committees.
- Implement group risk strategies by providing opinions on deals and supporting methodology improvements.
- Participate in the Group Credit Committee, with potential for personal authority limits depending on seniority.
- Assess key deals from subsidiaries, review financial analyses, and provide independent credit risk opinions, focusing on Renewable Energy Projects and MSME customers.
- Monitor performance of assessed deals and other risk-relevant deals regularly and on sample basis.
- Recommend company policies aligned with group guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Enhance institutional approaches to financing renewable energy and MSME clients in developing countries by developing templates, guidelines, manuals, and IT projects.
- Support subsidiaries in implementing these approaches, including training.
- Work closely with credit risk departments of subsidiaries, including site visits when necessary.
- Manage projects related to credit risk assessment for renewable energy and MSME portfolios, coordinating with IT departments.
Minimum qualifications include:
- A relevant university degree in economics, business administration, finance, or social sciences with a minor in business or related fields.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in finance, especially in credit risk assessment and renewable energy project development.
- Strong interest in environmental, financial, and development topics.
- Knowledge of cash-flow modeling and financial statement analysis.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, quick learner.
- Understanding of various economies and legal systems; familiarity with legal systems in the group's countries is advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken; knowledge of other languages spoken in operational countries is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, sincere and open communication style.
- Meticulous work ethic, ability to work independently and in teams.
