Procurement Specialist

Job Purpose

For our Central European Operation, we are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team in either Ransbach-Baumbach (Germany) or Lubliniec / Gdansk (Poland). The role involves managing and improving our organization’s procurement needs across all our businesses.

This specialist will actively participate in purchasing activities, support the Sub-Regional Procurement Director, and aim to achieve significant cost reductions while maintaining product quality and vendor service levels.

The responsibilities include performing data analytics, cleansing, spend analytics, monitoring vendor performance and compliance, resolving operational issues, sharing best practices, and ensuring stakeholder compliance with procurement policies.

We seek a candidate with excellent communication and influencing skills, fluent in English, Polish, and German, capable of working independently, managing projects, and delivering results.

This role offers the opportunity to join a growing global business and play a key role in optimizing and ensuring compliance in the flow of materials and services for Sibelco.

This position can be based in Ransbach-Baumach (Germany) or Lubliniec / Gdansk (Poland). We offer hybrid working conditions for flexibility.

Job Responsibilities
Operational Purchasing
  • Address issues related to claim handling, prices, contracts, supporting the Procurement Director and category managers.
Vendor Management
  • Engage with suppliers in Germany and Poland for supply of parts and materials.
  • Ensure supplier reports are available for stakeholders.
  • Consolidate suppliers across sites, especially for categories like MRO and Packaging.
  • Request documentation, quotations, samples; implement and monitor contracts.
  • Assess offers and propose options to the Procurement Director.
  • Negotiate categories in alignment with the Procurement Director.
Data Management
  • Conduct data analytics, cleansing, and spend analysis.
  • Submit supplier data for approval.
  • Use ERP systems to monitor costs and effectiveness.
  • Report on KPIs, automate processes, and provide user support.
Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor market trends and innovations for value addition.
  • Maintain metrics, analyze data, and implement improvements.
Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and guidelines.
  • Train stakeholders and ensure compliance in Germany and Poland.
About You

To succeed, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Procurement or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or category management.
  • Fluency in English, Polish, and German.
  • End-to-end supply chain experience and proven supplier development skills.
  • Knowledge of purchasing strategies and industrial mineral industry preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems (SAP knowledge is an advantage).
  • Self-motivated, independent, and proactive with travel willingness within Central Europe.
