Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence team. By combining decades of industrial leadership with cutting-edge software and digital technologies to create an efficient, productive, and reliable transportation ecosystem, we help railroads, shippers, miners, ports, and terminals enhance safety, unlock productivity, advance sustainability, and create pathways to optimized operations.

This role is part of our Growth & Innovation business unit which focuses on strategic investments and commercialization of new technologies that deliver transformative outcomes in safety, productivity, and efficiency. You will collaborate and work cross-functionally with product managers, engineering, sales, press relations, and corporate communications to expand Wabtec’s presence and success in the market.

Overview & Responsibilities:

As a Growth and Innovation Leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving organizational growth and fostering a culture of innovation. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement creative strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness. In this role, you will work closely with the product management and commercial teams to build a technical understanding of the products. In this role you will:

• Develop a list of goals that encourage innovative thinking and strategies throughout the organization focused on growth, business model innovation, and outside-the-box thinking.
• Increase operational efficiency and productivity through the introduction and implementation of creative solutions to enhance the company’s competitiveness within the industry.
• Conduct market research to identify target customer segments, pain points, and buyer behaviors within technical markets.
• Develop and implement strategic marketing plans that reach and engage technical decision makers, influencers, and end-users.
• Drive growth and improvement through the identification of areas that can benefit from innovation.
• Engage with sales teams and customers to understand the benefits and use cases of Wabtec’s solutions, as well as stay up to date on industry trends.
• Collaborate with product management teams to develop product positioning, value propositions, and messaging that is differentiated and resonates with our target customers and buyer personas.
• Provide assessments on both organic and inorganic growth opportunities, as well as insights on where business model shifts may be necessary.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and creativity.
• Align with our CTO engineering teams regarding innovation funding and initiatives.
• Manage the company’s technical presence at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• B.S. degree, preferably in Engineering or Computer Science. Master’s of Business Administration strongly preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience in product engineering, strategy, and/or product management with prior experience in a technical or engineering role.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Financial and business acumen with strong ability to develop a business case and understand returns.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into a compelling story for customers that clearly articulates Wabtec’s strategy, benefits, and differentiation.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with demonstrated ability to build original content for high impact marketing narratives, content, and programs.
• A creative problem-solver, capable of thinking strategically and analytically in an ambiguous environment with a focus on attention to details.
• Collaborative attitude that influences others to work together to move things forward.
• Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator or equivalent.
