Resident Engineer for Porsche Project– Electric Vehicles

Mission of the Role:

You are the qualified person representing Visteon at our customer Porsche, being daily on the working level tasks requiring prototype manipulation, preparation, testing, and delivery at the customer premises. You are the bridge to the Visteon back office engineering and manufacturing teams.

Key Objectives of this Role:

1. Ensure customer satisfaction through appropriate technical support on a working level at PORSCHE customer premises and Visteon Karlsruhe in Weissach for vehicle electrification products;
2. Ensure prototype final preparation and delivery to the customer;
3. Participate in the product prototype debug sessions in the battery assembly stages or vehicle context;
4. Update the prototype SW in the field / participate in re-flash activities.

Qualification, Experience and Skills:

• Bachelors or higher degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Informatics or Physics;
• Experience and personal interest in electrical/automotive engineering with software and electronics emphasis;
• At least 2 years of experience in the electrical appliances/electronics industry, ideally at a supplier of electronic / battery equipment for automotive or at one of the German automotive manufacturers;
• E3 High Voltage qualification is an advantage but the certificate can be acquired during the probation period;
• Knowledge of CAN-based tools, basics of programming, and MS Office tools is necessary;
• Independent and self-organized working style, good communicator, likes to work hands-on from soldering iron and screwdriver to oscilloscope and C compiler - even in the field;
• The ability for regular traveling, driving license is required;
• Written and spoken German and English are a must.

Reporting Structure: This role reports to the Chief Engineer responsible for the customer product delivery of electrification programs and is part of a multi-national, multi-regional team.

Work location: Karlsruhe. Regular travels to PORSCHE customer premises in Germany and surrounding countries are required.
