EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany.

As a Command Electrical Engineer Advisor and coordinator on electrical discipline, you will participate in the planning, directing, managing, and controlling the electrical engineering program for the 2nd Theater Signal Brigade. Your responsibilities include project management during the planning and execution phases of construction, new installations, modifications, and rehabilitation of telecommunication facilities such as power and light distribution systems, building configuration, site layout, air conditioning plans, and equipment locations. You will direct the application of complex test, monitoring, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) throughout Europe to obtain a solid engineering/mathematical basis for solving complex power problems.

You will determine requirements, prepare documentation, and submit instructions to US Military Construction Organizations for facility design. You will evaluate the adequacy of equipment and facilities, review construction cost estimates, plans, and specifications prepared by contractors for conformance to criteria and contract requirements. Using data from construction agencies, contractors, and site visits, you will maintain up-to-date progress schedules for the 2nd Theater Signal Brigade on electrical power (primary and backup) and cooling systems for telecommunication site projects. You will monitor construction work to ensure scheduled milestones are met and that the work satisfies the brigade's requirements.

You will provide advice and guidance on implementing programs and resolving electrical power problems across the Area of Responsibility (AOR), including maintenance and repair/replacement of emergency backup power systems. You will attend meetings and conferences related to electrical engineering to provide staff assistance as needed.

E&T Level V: Applicants must be graduates from a Fachhochschule, Berufsakademie, or Technische Hochschule as an Engineer in the relevant discipline and recognized by German authorities to practice engineering in Germany. Foreign applicants must obtain an equivalent certification from German authorities confirming recognition to practice in their area of specialization.

  • Driver's license class B is desired.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:

English AND German Language Proficiency Level C1 required.
