The Global Technical Development Manager, Key Account, represents Ingredion at multiple levels of the customer’s organization and provides technical support, including on-site visits. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating technical activities among the account technical team and identifying and advancing the commercialization of new products.
Core Responsibilities:
EMEA Specific Responsibilities
- Lead and manage EMEA lab and pilot trials to support customer projects, innovation days, visits, technical and NPD workshops.
- Co-lead monthly internal EMEA calls with Global Key Account Sales Directors to drive project pipeline, document success stories, and share initiatives.
Global and Regional Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver key global and regional projects within agreed timeframes.
- Build strong relationships at multiple levels with internal and customer technical and innovation teams; develop networks to facilitate rapid solution delivery.
- Lead regular calls with customer global R&D leads to align initiatives and promote innovation.
- Co-lead quarterly global calls with the Global Key Account Sales Director to advance project pipeline and share successes.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans and innovation roadmaps in collaboration with sales and technical teams.
- Report on technical activities to stakeholders.
- Manage legal, regulatory, and quality interactions at various levels within Ingredion and with the account.
- Identify unmet and future needs of the account brands and communicate these insights to support innovation funnel development.
- Introduce and position new technologies; manage the innovation pipeline aligned with the account's commercial agreements.
- Protect intellectual property and maintain confidential records of technical work and key meetings.
- Provide technical leadership and training to the global technical account team.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Food Science or related science discipline.
- 10+ years of NPD/innovation experience in the food industry (FMCG/B2C) or food ingredients (B2B).
- Successful project delivery in product innovation and customer support.
- Strong knowledge of food processes, ingredient functionality, and interactions.
- Solid business acumen and drive for commercial success.
- Effective communication skills with senior management.
- Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Networking, teamwork, and influencing skills.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel regionally up to 30% and internationally occasionally.
