Role Summary:

The Field Service Engineering Specialist (for Electric Actuation & Digital Products) is a customer-facing extension of the Flowserve digital products and automation engineering team. This engineer will support electric actuation activities for all digital products interacting with third-party control systems. Responsibilities include servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning customer network installations, with a strong understanding of network protocols such as HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, and connectivity with systems like ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Invensys, Rockwell, Siemens, Yokogawa, via wired and wireless technologies.

This role can be based anywhere in the US or Europe, requires travel up to 50%, and proximity to a major airport is necessary. The engineer will engage directly with customers through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and Webex, ensuring customer satisfaction and effective troubleshooting.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Execute global strategies to increase profitability, support product management, and contribute to product and technology development.
2. Utilize diagnostics for troubleshooting, analysis, and inspection of digital products and control system compatibility issues, including electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
3. Train end users and support personnel in network troubleshooting and commissioning, mentoring internal and external associates.
4. Support customers in designing new applications, migrating technologies, and upgrading solutions across various industries.
5. Provide technical assistance on digital network interoperability and diagnostics for maintenance and predictive analytics.
6. Assist sales and application engineering with technical support, product demonstrations, and project clarifications.
7. Participate in customer interactions to communicate VOC, share field insights, and support competitive benchmarking.
8. Promote a safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Chemical engineering, or 5+ years of industrial network experience.
• 5-10 years of experience in troubleshooting systems and networks, including system integration.
• Proven experience with industrial digital communication and device commissioning.
• Fluency in English (verbal, reading, writing) is mandatory.
• Understanding of fluid flow in process control, instrumentation, and process control elements.
• Knowledge of digital communication protocols such as HART, FF, Modbus, Profibus, and related technologies.
• Familiarity with DCS and Asset Management Systems like Emerson DeltaV, Yokogawa Centum, Honeywell Experion.
• Experience with FDT/DTM technology and related software tools.
• Ability to install, start-up, and troubleshoot digital products and interpret engineering drawings.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Wireless communication experience in industrial settings.
• Knowledge of main electric actuation competitors (Rotork, Auma, EIM, Coester, etc.) is advantageous.
