Jobbeschreibung

For our ambitious and growing Computational Pathology team at AstraZeneca Computational Pathology GmbH, we are looking for a software developer with a background in machine learning (ML) and data handling workflows. The group aims to establish a pipeline of computational pathology-based scoring methods. We aim to improve clinical outcomes, transform traditional practices, develop a first-in-class computational pathology-based Diagnostics (Dx) product, and establish AstraZeneca as a market leader in AI-based Dx solutions with clinical utility.

Role

In your role, you will support the development of computational pathology workflows through tool development and workflow automation. This role requires working cross-functionally with different computational pathology groups and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Collecting and understanding user requirements, establishing workflow designs, and developing efficient software solutions.
  2. Developing new tools or improving existing ones used in computational pathology workflows.
  3. Adding new features, fixing bugs, increasing test coverage, improving documentation, and ensuring process and tooling compliance.
Desired Profile
Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience in a data management role within healthcare, clinical, or biotechnology sectors is highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data management, preferably within healthcare, clinical, or computational pathology environments.

Experience working with imaging data, clinical trial data, or similar multisource datasets.

Technical Skills
  • Software engineering best practices: high-performance, bug-free code, proper documentation, unit testing, and code quality.
  • Proficiency with TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Experience with frameworks such as Keras, PyTorch Lightning, Ignite.
  • Optional: Processing platforms like Kubeflow or Airflow.
  • Optional: Image processing/Computer Vision experience, e.g., OpenCV.
  • Optional: Acceleration frameworks like Numba for CPU/GPU.
  • Optional: Cloud infrastructure, especially AWS.
  • Experience in regulated environments developing code under regulatory rules is a plus.
