We offer diverse career opportunities in science, technology, and administration.

The Space and Planets Group at the University of Cologne in Germany is seeking a candidate for a postdoctoral research position (f/m/x) focusing on icy moons in the outer solar system. The project will investigate the space plasma environments of these moons and electromagnetic induction within their conductive layers, such as subsurface saline oceans. The work will involve numerical modeling and data analysis to understand the moons' space environments and internal properties, with implications for their evolution and current dynamics. The research will support future spacecraft missions.

Activities and Responsibilities
  • Perform and analyze numerical simulations of the space environment around icy moons
  • Analyze measurements obtained by spacecraft or telescopes
  • Use and modify models of induction responses within saline subsurface oceans of icy moons
  • Present findings at workshops and international meetings
  • Publish results in peer-reviewed scientific journals
