Overview

The Tier II Help Desk Technician (m/f/d) provides all GCMC participants and staff with responsive, qualified, and knowledgeable IT Call Center and Help Desk support, in accordance with the DSCA-Marshall Center CIO Service Request Policy Memorandum. Help Desk requests may be received in person, over the telephone, by email, or via the Systems Support Division ticket system. Contractor shall enter telephone request calls, emails, and in-person requests into the ticket system, in accordance with the DSCA Marshall Center Ticket Handling SOP Memorandum.

This is a US Local National position in Germany. As such the employee will be subject to paying German taxes and be part of the German work force with all the benefits of HN employment and social system.

Responsibilities

Typical Help Desk tasks include the following:

  1. Manages Active Directory User Accounts and groups.
  2. Installs and troubleshoots all Government-approved IT equipment such as desktops, monitors, printers.
  3. Installs and troubleshoots all Government-approved operating systems and COTS software for desktops, laptops, and other mobile devices.
  4. Demonstrates how to login to the network, save and retrieve files, find course materials, and effectively use all the GCMC IT resources available, as required by the Government.
  5. Performs as interface between Participants and SSD for all participant mobile devices, including inventory control, imaging, issuance, and retrieval of assets in coordination with the SSD Asset Manager.
  6. Provides Tier 1 support for GCMC, including all SSD sections such as Networking, Systems, DevOps, and Information Assurance, escalating requests and incidents as per SOPs.
  7. Ensures all Help Desk processes are documented, audited, and improved regularly.
  8. Collaborates with the IT Project Manager on project planning, execution, and provides reporting on staffing and tasks.
  9. Manages the GCMC Microsoft SCCM and HCL BigFix systems, including creating Windows images, software deployment, updates, patches, and testing in accordance with SOPs.
  10. Supports mobile device management for all approved mobile devices, following SOPs.
  11. Provides Tier 2 support across SSD sections, escalating requests and incidents as necessary.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  1. Proficient in English (writing and speaking).
  2. Must have lived in Germany for at least 1 consecutive year.
  3. Current CompTia Security+ certification.
  4. Physically capable of lifting equipment up to 40 pounds.
