Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) is seeking two Dual Enrollment Coordinators. The Dual Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions and activities of a dual enrollment program, ensuring seamless access and success for high school students taking college-level courses while still in high school. This role facilitates communication and collaboration between high schools and the college, manages student recruitment, registration, and support services, and provides guidance to students, parents, and school personnel. Additionally, the Coordinator plays a key role in working with the Director to provide program management, working closely with adjuncts, faculty and administrators to align curriculum, maintain academic integrity, and ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standards. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Dual Enrollment. Telework options may be available during the summer; to be determined.

Duties include but are not limited to :

  • Supervises Assistant Coordinator for Dual Enrollment
  • Serves as a liaison with public school divisions, private school partners, home school families, students, and other stakeholders
  • Promotes the dual enrollment program to high school students, counselors, administrators, and families through presentations, information sessions, and school visits
  • Provides regular communication with dual enrollment instructors, division partners, and students
  • Maintains confidentiality of student records, files, and correspondence as required by the Federal Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Collaborates with Academic Deans to ensure course content, learning objectives, and rigor align with institutional standards, and communicates the expectations to dual enrollment instructors
  • Supports the Director in coordination of classroom observation visits and reviewing course syllabi
  • Evaluates credentialing information to assess the qualifications of prospective dual enrollment instructors based on VCCS-29 Normal Minimum Criteria and oversees their onboarding process
  • Advises students on course selection aligned with their academic goals and monitors progress throughout the process
  • Collaborates with school divisions to evaluate program needs and identify opportunities for growth
  • Oversees the dual enrollment graduation process ensuring all requirements are met, applications are processed, and essential information is effectively communicated to graduates and school officials
  • Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations regarding dual enrollment programs, including student eligibility requirements and reporting procedures
  • Manages the dual enrollment registration process, including course scheduling, student eligibility and placement, and submission of required documentation
  • Monitors student progress in dual enrollment courses, analyze data to identify areas for improvement, and report findings to relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible for the reconciliation and delivery of semester invoices for divisions
  • Assists the Director with preparing annual Dual Enrollment contracts and MOUs
  • Serves as a principal contact for on-campus DE programs
  • Acts as a point of contact for conflict resolution and issue management within the program, ensuring timely and effective resolution of concerns
  • Handles disagreements constructively and diplomatically
  • Maintains ethical standards, integrity, and a positive attitude in the workplace
  • Manages multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Dual Enrollment

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Master's Degree in Education or a related field
  • Knowledge of college admission policies, procedures, and academic programs.
  • Understanding of student advising principles and academic planning
  • Proficient working knowledge of internet applications, PC-based software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Google docs, Peoplesoft, etc.), learning management systems, SIS, and communication platforms
  • Knowledge and understanding of the dual and concurrent enrollment
  • Possess critical thinking skills that lead to comprehensive solutions and implementation
  • Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Experience working with high school students, teachers, and school administrators
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills
  • Experience working in a busy, multi-faceted program or department
  • Supervisory experience

Additional Considerations :

  • Understanding of post secondary education programs and pathways, including associate degree, certificate, and career studies certificate options, technical training, and transfer opportunities
  • Proficient in data entry, tracking, and reporting, as well as other administrative functions
  • Experience in a community college setting
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards, particularly as they relate to dual enrollment programs
  • Familiarity with dual enrollment policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
