A university in Marburg is seeking a Doctoral Researcher for a funded project on immunology. Responsibilities include conducting research, collaborating with partners, and supervising students. Candidates must hold a relevant master's degree and have experience with laboratory techniques, including flow cytometry.
The position is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and offered for a period of 3 years. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is part-time (65 % of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 65 %).
The research group is a consortium of leading universities and research institutions in Marburg, Gießen, Bonn, Mainz, and Mannheim. The aim of this research consortium is to gain a better understanding of immunological processes in the testis.
The scientific environment is characterized by excellently networked, interdisciplinary research teams with regular retreats, workshops, and intensive exchange between the locations. The advertised position is located in an immunological research laboratory that is active in basic research with a close link to clinical questions.
The thematic focus of the project is on the functional and phenotypic analysis of various T cell subpopulations that become active in the context of testicular tumor diseases and chronic inflammation. To address these questions, a state-of-the-art technical infrastructure is available. This includes, among other things, high-dimensional flow cytometry (classical and spectral), single-cell technologies, CODEX technology, and the latest bioinformatics analysis tools in close cooperation with core facilities.
The position is limited to a time period deemed adequate for the completion of a doctoral degree. As part of the assigned duties, there will be ample opportunity to conduct the independent scientific research necessary for the completion of a doctorate. The limitation complies to § 2, 1 WissZeitVG.
Disposition to own scientific qualification is expected.
