Position Summary

The Supply Chain function is responsible for all S&OP, Planning, Customer Service, Master Data, Procurement (Operational Buyers), and Inventory Control functions at Catalent, Schorndorf. The position is responsible for overseeing all activities and personnel within the Supply Chain function, providing leadership for Customer Services, Planning, S&OP, Master Data, and Material Management.

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for coordinating and implementing activities to attain strategic objectives within the department, seeking guidance from supervisors and peers as needed. This role involves establishing goals, supervising work practices, and interpreting policies affecting organizational units. At this senior level, extensive independent judgment, interaction with senior leadership, and strategic planning aligned with corporate vision are required.

The Role

• Develop and execute site Supply Chain strategy aligned with Business, Operations, and Quality Strategy.
• Manage commercial supply agreements, ensuring high service levels and on-time delivery to customers.
• Resolve servicing issues through a strong cross-functional S&OP process.
• Implement and manage planning and S&OP functions for optimal processing of customer orders.
• Collaborate with operations and quality to develop production and laboratory capacity plans for medium and long-term strategies.
• Negotiate and manage supply agreements, coordinating related items with customers.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of Catalent (Schorndorf) logistics and planning strategy as the interface with customers and operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

• MS degree (preferred) with over 10 years of strategic and operational leadership experience in a customer-driven planning and logistics environment.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry (CDMO preferred), with SLT/Board responsibility for Supply Chain.
• Experience managing Supply Chain in an ERP environment (e.g., JD Edwards), including system implementation.
• Proven experience managing teams and providing tactical and strategic leadership.
• Ability to develop long-term customer relationships across different cultures at an international level.
