Were looking for a Director of Retail Sales to lead our monetization efforts for the retail vertical in Germany. Reporting to the Managing Director of Sales (Germany), you will be responsible for building Pinterest's retail business in one of Europe's largest markets. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to drive business results for our clients while delivering growth. You will manage a team of senior sellers and be part of the Senior Leadership team in Germany. Additionally, you will represent Pinterest externally and serve as our voice in the industry on relevant topics.
This is a full-time position based in Germany, with offices in Hamburg, Berlin, and Munich.
What you'll do :
- Lead our sales strategy and execution for Retail in Germany.
- Develop market and competitive assessments to identify and drive new opportunities for Pinterest in Germany.
- Build and maintain relationships with partners, executive and operational teams, and industry associations.
- Close strategic partnerships and scale revenue with retail advertisers.
- Drive sales operational excellence across key metrics and indicators according to the business plan.
- Lead the DE Retail team by building training programs and motivating a high-performing, diverse sales team within an inclusive culture.
- Partner with Sales Operations and Measurement teams to analyze data trends and client performance, sharing insights to grow client businesses through Pinterest solutions.
- Contribute to the success of the country as part of the DE leadership team through cross-vertical collaboration.
- Act as an external spokesperson and evangelize Pinterest's value proposition in Germany.
What we're looking for :
- At least 10 years of experience in the digital media industry.
- At least 5 years of management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in business, advertising, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong team leadership skills with successful experience leading marketing or sales teams.
- Ability to work with executive-level business and marketing leaders.
- Established industry presence with a strong network among retail companies.
- Deep understanding of performance data and measurement landscapes, with experience using data to develop strategies.
- Focus on operational excellence, with experience implementing new performance measures, processes, and systems.
- Business fluency in German and English.
- Proven go-to-market strategy and operational rigor to execute sales priorities successfully.
- Strong leadership skills that inspire and challenge teams to think big and foster an inclusive culture.
- Ability to collaborate with product and engineering teams, translating business needs into product roadmaps.
- Strong influencing skills to prioritize and direct sales efforts.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, capable of translating insights and data into client objectives.
- Proven success in growth environments and incubating new businesses.
