Business Development Director – Sterile Injectables & Drug Product (CDMO)

Location: Germany (Remote)

Vector are supporting a growing CDMO looking for an experienced business development professional to drive growth in sterile injectable and drug product services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building big Pharma partnerships, managing complex sales cycles, and expanding a company's commercial reach across Europe.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Identify, engage, and convert new business opportunities in sterile injectable, PFS and Drug Product manufacturing
  • Manage the full BD cycle from lead generation and qualification through to proposal, negotiation, and contract close
  • Build long-term relationships with pharma and biotech clients, with a focus on late-phase and commercial-stage projects
  • Map key accounts, develop client-specific strategies, and position solutions that meet technical and commercial needs
  • Collaborate with technical, legal, operational, and quality teams to align proposals and ensure execution confidence
  • Represent the business at key industry events such as CPHI, PDA, and BioEurope to drive pipeline growth
  • Provide market feedback to shape service offerings and support strategic decision-making
  • Report regularly on pipeline status, deal progress, and commercial metrics

What You Bring

  • 7–10+ years in business development, sales, or account management within the CDMO sector, ideally focused on sterile injectables and Drug Product
  • Proven experience managing complex, long-cycle deals with pharma and biotech customers
  • Solid understanding of sterile manufacturing from both a regulatory and technical standpoint
  • Strong network across European markets, especially DACH, UK, France, Nordics, and Benelux
  • Commercially driven, relationship-focused, and confident working across functions and cultures
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are beneficial
  • Willing and able to travel regularly across Europe
  • Proficient in CRM tools and comfortable working with KPIs and sales data
