On behalf of one of our key clients, a globally integrated CDMO partner specializing in complex modalities for Pharma and Biotech companies, we are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Business Development to lead their growth in Germany. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape their presence in the DACH region and contribute to the advancement of innovative therapies.

As Director of Business Development, you will :

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve ambitious growth targets within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
  • Identify, cultivate, and close new business opportunities with Pharma and Biotech companies, focusing on complex drug development and manufacturing needs.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers across the DACH region.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 4 direct reports within the Business Development function.
  • Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams (technical, operations, project management) to develop compelling value propositions and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences, enhancing our brand presence and generating new leads.

To be successful in this role, you will bring :

  • A strong scientific or business background, ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Proven track record of 8+ years in Business Development or a related commercial role within the CDMO sector.
  • Deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle and the outsourcing needs of Pharma and Biotech companies.
  • Extensive network within the pharmaceutical and biotech landscape in the DACH region.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
