This position is part of Cepheid’s Infectious Disease Medical and Scientific Affairs group and will be located remotely in Germany.

Role Overview: Director Medical Affairs (Germany)

You will be responsible for activities in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in scientific meetings to engage Senior KOLs, healthcare providers, and customers.
  2. Demonstrate expertise in infectious disease, clinical microbiology, and related disciplines.
  3. Serve as a resource to the medical/scientific community including clinicians, laboratory personnel, infection control, pharmacists, and researchers.
  4. Develop understanding of the global health environment relevant to diagnostics.
  5. Establish and maintain a network within relevant stakeholder communities.
  6. Collaborate with researchers on independent studies to generate evidence for new applications and expand product footprint.
  7. Work independently with guidance on complex problems.
  8. Maintain knowledge of scientific literature, clinical guidelines, and healthcare trends.
  9. Identify research gaps, support clinical trials, and contribute to product development insights.
  10. Communicate insights about unmet clinical needs and provide scientific input on product design and implementation.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Medical Degree (MD) with specialization in infectious diseases, microbiology, or infection prevention with 8 years of related experience. Other clinical fields considered if infectious disease knowledge is sufficient.
  2. Strong scientific writing, publication record, and excellent communication skills, including international speaking experience.
  3. Proven ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences, with organizational and problem-solving skills in a multicultural environment.
  4. Fluency in German and excellent English communication skills.
  5. Ability to travel approximately 60%, including regional and international travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. 3 years of Medical and Scientific Affairs experience.
  2. Experience managing diagnostics studies in infectious diseases in Germany.
  3. Experience in clinical trials management and regulatory familiarity with diagnostics.
