Sysmex Europe SE, in collaboration with Medicaroid Europe, is paving the way for the EMEA market introduction of the innovative hinotori robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) system. This presents a unique opportunity for the Director, Head of Business Robotic-Assisted Surgery.

As Head of the Business Robotic-Assisted Surgery (hinotori), you will develop, implement, and execute the marketing strategy for the hinotori system within the region in predefined, prioritised European countries. Using your solid understanding of minimal invasive surgery (MIS), regional surgeon/patient/hospital segments, reimbursement levels, incumbent surgical techniques and existing KOL network, you are expected to collaborate closely with the manufacturer Medicaroid and the global Sysmex organisation in Japan. Additionally, you will work with a cross-functional regional sales team and work closely within the Sysmex European marketing department.

Your responsibilities

  • Use your robotic surgery experience to develop and execute the regional marketing strategy and support the creation of country marketing tactics. Including detailed activities to be implemented in a defined timeline and the related budget in strong collaboration with the manufacturer marketing team and local sales leadership
  • Co-create, define and establish the marketing & commercialisation structure, including the clinical and sales teams, to enable the promotion and selling of capital equipment consisting of the system, instruments & accessories and related services to develop successful robotic programs
  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders, including the C-suite from hospitals & Public Health Systems, physicians, and Surgical personnel.
  • Deliver corporate clinical and capital marketing and sales tools to achieve short and long-term goals for system sales and procedures quotas, using executive and clinical vision presentations, webinars, KOL videos and content, market development events, executive sessions, white papers, and key publication summaries with the support of the medical affairs team.
  • Exploring ways to secure market entrance, grow market share and use your knowledge to exceed best industry standards. Initiating and driving change, you will spot opportunities quickly and develop alternative, creative solutions to implement effective multispecialty robotic programs, depending on each country’s unique stakeholders & hospital environment. Finding ways to implement leading robotic program best practice messaging, drive system expansion, and procedure adoption.
  • Lead, develop & manage a fast-growing team, executing a hiring and development plan to meet growth targets while coaching and developing future leaders and stronger marketing and support teams.

Your profile

  • 8+ years of Clinical/Product marketing experience in a medical device company or 10+ years of experience in the Healthcare Industry.
  • Strong (including virtual) leadership skills and experience (global, European or regional) as well as the ability to collaborate and cooperate across the organisation and functions
  • Surgical and/or Operating Theatre (Room) sales experience, preferably in robotic-assisted surgery
  • Proven ability to effectively position and procedure/product messages and develop strong sales support to drive desired adoption
  • Demonstrated success in building clinical education and marketing programs to drive product/procedure growth
  • Self-starter leader, with the capacity to create the required team and infrastructure to ensure market success
  • Proven ability to work with many areas of management, including strategy development, engagement programs, market research, segmentation, competitive dynamics, and crisis management in a highly complex and dynamic environment
  • Language (spoken and written): English, additional EU languages/Japanese knowledge would be a plus
  • Superior verbal/written communication, teamwork, and interpersonal work across multiple constituents
  • A keen ability to manage projects, define & monitor budgets, organise, prioritise and cope with multiple tasks
  • Extensive networking skills and an established network in EMEA
  • Excellent communication skills with distinct ability to negotiate, engage and influence
