Digital Solutions Team Leader - EMEA Airlines Services (all genders)

In this exciting context, we are seeking a new Unit Manager for our team located in Bad Homburg, contributing to the delivery of Services to EMEA customers.

What is your mission?

As a Unit Manager from Airline Services Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a Unit working for all Services customers for the EMEA Region, with a particular focus on the Digital scope.

The holder of this position will lead a set of highly skilled and functional team members locally in Bad Homburg. In addition to team management, a key part of the job will be to ensure contributions from BHO to EMEA customers meet customer expectations, discussing project and resource needs with the EMEA Train Leaders and Senior Management.

The duty of this position is to lead projects and maintenance activities for the different digital touchpoints of Amadeus EMEA customers, and to identify and run continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of technology deliverables, and improve team efficiency and productivity. Responsibilities also include developing people, recruiting locally and for remote sites, and reporting to line management in BHO.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

AS RESULT LEADER

  1. Organize and manage support on developed solutions, both internally and externally (customers, operations…)
  2. Support technical solutions design and conduct feasibility studies
  3. Propose viable technical solutions to Customers for validation
  4. Coordinate unit, package, and non-regression tests of software
  5. Be accountable for operational excellence of the team
  6. Ensure coherent and robust technical architecture aligned with company principles and customer requirements

AS PEOPLE LEADER (team of 10-15 developers and project managers)

  1. Assist, guide, and motivate team members. Set and follow-up objectives for individuals. Ensure effective utilization of capacity and check on quality and quantity
  2. Manage HR activities and procedures related to the team. Ensure timely communication and conduct annual appraisals
  3. Provide guidance to employees and colleagues. Support team development based on ongoing assessment
  4. Foster and support teams within Airline Services Engineering sites (Bad Homburg, Nice, Bangalore, Dubai, Istanbul)

AS THOUGHT LEADER

  1. Support the Engineering Service vision and leverage it to bring value and develop/implement Services strategy
  2. Develop internal agility and foster agile collaboration with customers

Who are we looking for? No one less than you

  • Bachelor's or master's in computer science or engineering (software development)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in airline and/or travel domains
  • Excellent knowledge and practice in agile methodologies (Scrum required, SAFe preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills and customer-facing experience
  • Good knowledge of Airline Solutions Digital vision and existing solutions (Products, DxAPI, DES, Competency Centers)
  • Good knowledge of Web and client-side technologies (Angular, React, REST/JSON APIs)
  • Experience with full product development lifecycle including support
  • Experience managing teams or remote sites is a plus
  • Experience prioritizing roadmap items for delivery
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage dependencies
  • Assertiveness, conflict resolution skills, and consensus-building abilities
  • Technical and domain knowledge aligned with business priorities
