The AI startup Xayn develops Noxtua, Europe's first sovereign Legal AI. Hosted in the EU, Noxtua meets high standards of confidentiality, professional secrecy (e.g., Section 203 German Criminal Code, Section 43e German Federal Code for Lawyers), and European data protection. Powered by proprietary AI models trained with high-quality legal data from the Legal AI Alliance, initiated by Xayn with CMS, Noxtua is a secure, independent, and specialized European Legal AI.
Founded in 2017, Xayn originated from research at Oxford University and Imperial College London, led by Dr. Leif Nissen Lundbæk and Professor Michael Huth. With approximately 30 PhDs, the startup has received €19.5 million in funding from Global Brain Corporation, KDDI Open Innovation Fund, Earlybird, and Dominik Schiener.
