Deutsche Bahn sucht einen erfahrenen DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) in Team IPS. Sie entwerfen, provisioning und betreiben Cloud-Infrastruktur für GAIDC auf Microsoft Azure und setzen IaC mit Bicep/Terraform um.

Olbg das Team kümmert sich um Sicherheit, Überwachung und skalierbare Plattformen. Sie arbeiten eng mit AI-Ingenieuren und Entwicklern zusammen, um eine zuverlässige, sichere und zukunftsorientierte KI-Plattform bereitzustellen.

Qualifications

• 4+ Jahre praktische Erfahrung in DevOps/Platform Engineering/SRE
• Ausgeprägte Kenntnisse in Microsoft Azure und/oder AWS
• Erfahrung mit Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform)
• Erfahrung mit GitLab, CI/CD, Linux, Bash, Python, Docker, Kubernetes
• Starke Kenntnisse in Cloud-Security (RBAC, Encryption, Secrets)

As a DevOps Engineer (f/m/d) in Team IPS, you will play a key role in building, automating, operating, and securing the cloud infrastructure and delivery processes behind the AI Service GenAI Data Connect. GenAI Data Connect (GAIDC) is a central AI platform operated by DB Systel that makes Deutsche Bahn data available for generative AI applications. The service links state-of-the-art language models with internal documents and knowledge sources, enabling the generation of reliable, context-sensitive responses based on DB data. Working at the intersection of cloud engineering, platform operations, and AI technologies, you will help ensure reliability, scalability, observability, and compliance across a modern enterprise AI platform.

We are looking for you to join us as a DevOps Engineer (f/m/d) at the earliest possible date for DB Systel GmbH, based in Berlin, Erfurt, or Frankfurt am Main.

Deine Aufgaben:

• Design, provision, and operate cloud infrastructure for GAIDC on Microsoft Azure
• Take ownership of Azure resources, including storage accounts, databases, networking components, container platforms, identity services, and monitoring solutions
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using technologies such as Bicep, Terraform, and related automation frameworks
• Build, optimize, and support GitLab CI / CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments, platform services, and release automation
• Ensure secure cloud operations through robust RBAC concepts, encryption, secrets management, and enterprise-grade network security controls
• Operate and continuously improve containerized workloads while supporting troubleshooting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization
• Drive observability initiatives by enhancing logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and dashboards using OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, Grafana, and Prometheus
• Collaborate closely with AI engineers, software developers, architects, and platform teams to shape a reliable and future-ready AI platform

Dein Profil:

• A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, or a comparable discipline; alternatively, completed IT-related vocational training combined with relevant professional experience
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or cloud infrastructure environments
• Proven expertise with Microsoft Azure and / or AWS, including strong practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, ideally with Bicep and Terraform
• Solid experience working with GitLab, GitLab CI / CD, Linux, Bash, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Container Apps, and Azure Web Apps
• A strong understanding of cloud security principles, including RBAC, encryption, secure networking, identity management, and secrets handling
• Hands-on experience with modern monitoring and observability solutions such as OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, Grafana, and Prometheus
• Familiarity with AI and data platform technologies, including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, relational and NoSQL databases, and vector database concepts
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, a collaborative DevOps mindset, and experience working in Agile environments using Scrum or Kanban, combined with fluent English communication skills
