Job summary

Rentman is seeking a DevOps Engineer to own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and security across Rentman and Crewzone. You will drive a shift to Infrastructure-as-Code on AWS, build scalable automation, and improve reliability and performance.

You will work with a global team in a flexible remote setup and contribute to cost efficiency and security practices. You’ll collaborate with P&D and IT teams to ensure smooth landings for future products, and you’ll have the chance to influence

Qualifications

• Experience owning the availability, reliability, and cost of a business-critical product.
• Led an Infrastructure-as-Code migration of a production AWS estate using Terraform, Pulumi or CDK.
• Designed and operated CI/CD pipelines at product scale, using GitHub Actions or a comparable tool.
• Ability to set priorities based on outcomes rather than tickets.
• Ability to write code for internal tooling.

• Produce insight into hosting cost and performance and translate into concrete recommendations.
• Unify Fargate and Kubernetes services onto a single standard.
• Own cloud security and IAM, including account structure, access management, secrets and compliance controls.
• Manage stakeholders across P&D and plan infrastructure for future products.

Mission of this role

As a DevOps Engineer you'll take ownership of our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD systems, system reliability, observability and scalability. You bring strong DevOps fundamentals paired with solid software development skills, so you can build clean, maintainable automation and internal tooling. You're comfortable operating with autonomy, making architectural decisions and raising the quality and resilience of our delivery and operational workflows.

What you'll do

• Own infrastructure system health, security posture and cost for Rentman and Crewzone.

• Lead the transition to fully code-defined infrastructure, moving our AWS estate from ClickOps to end-to-end Infrastructure-as-Code.

• Set up and maintain staging environments the P&D team can rely on for daily testing.

• Build and own our observability stack: monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards, alerts and uptime KPIs.

• Produce insight into hosting cost and performance, and turn that insight into concrete recommendations.

• Unify our Fargate and Kubernetes services onto one standard.

• Own cloud security and IAM, including account structure, access management, secrets and the controls that support our compliance work.

• Manage stakeholders across P&D and stay ahead of infrastructure required to land future products on.

What we are looking for

• Experience being responsible for the availability and infrastructure of a business critical product or service.

• You've personally led an Infrastructure-as-Code migration of a non-trivial production AWS estate, using Terraform, Pulumi or CDK. Contributing to one isn't enough, we need someone who has led it.

• You've designed and operated CI/CD pipelines at product scale, using GitHub Actions or a comparable tool. Again, designing and operating, not just maintaining.

• You're comfortable setting your own priorities against outcomes rather than working off a ticket list.

• You can write code, not just think about infrastructure. Some of our internal tooling depends on this.

Nice to haves

• Experience with security testing.

• Experience setting up test automation at scale.
