Job Description

The goal of rubber product and process development is to lay the foundation for innovation in the business area Original Equipment Solutions (OESL), aiming to be the leader in highly developed, intelligent, and sustainable rubber products for the automotive industry. Our goal is to provide the best solutions for each customer in each market. The Development Engineer Rubber (m/f/diverse) is responsible for developing new technologies with a focus on rubber products and processes. This is achieved through effective execution and management of R&D projects.

Your tasks will include:

1. Leading projects to develop new technologies and processes to ensure technological leadership of OESL in the respective area.
2. Managing internal interfaces within defined R&D processes to ensure adherence to process and quality requirements.
3. Reviewing process developments internally and externally, considering technical content and intellectual property.
4. Monitoring market trends, exhibitions, and fairs to inform technical development.
5. Driving conceptual ideas towards patents or unique selling points.
6. Maintaining a robust network within the technical departments across R&D and segments for effective knowledge transfer and communication.
7. Improving specifications in design and manufacturing to enhance product usability for application engineers and customers.
8. Innovating and creating solutions to support our corporate sustainability strategy.

Qualifications include:

• An academic degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, automotive engineering, chemistry, or materials science.
• Experience in the automotive industry.
• Several years of professional experience in process engineering or product development in rubber products.
• Knowledge of production technologies such as extrusion, calendering, vulcanization, injection molding, etc.
• A passion for rubber products.
• Experience with development projects and relevant tools.
• Ability to organize and document target-driven meetings.
• Fluent in English and very good German language skills, both written and spoken.
• Respectful and experienced in intercultural communication.
• An independent working style, good communication skills, teamwork ability, and confidence.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% of the time.
