Job summary

ZEISS Group in Oberkochen is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and design mechanical and mechatronic production equipment for optical components, from clamping fixtures to handling solutions.

You will manage development packages, coordinate with suppliers, and collaborate with Manufacturing and Process Development to ensure successful handover to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design mechanical and mechatronic production equipment for manufacturing, machining, coating, cleaning and handling optical components.
• Design clamping fixtures, transport and handling solutions, and components for precise positioning and covering of optics.
• Gradually take technical responsibility for development work packages, from requirements management through to handover to manufacturing.
• Develop concepts, specifications and requirements for new manufacturing processes and complete production equipment sets.
• Coordinate external development partners and suppliers throughout the development process.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Process Development, Procurement and conformity-related functions.
