The position can be filled in full or part time.

Summary

We are looking for a Development Engineer for Optical Metrology (f/m/d) for the Structural Mechanics & AIV department at the Oberkochen site as soon as possible.

The Structural Mechanics & AIV department is responsible for the specification, development, and realization of complex measurement systems for EUV lithography and space applications. In close coordination with the project team and the customer, requirements are defined, and corresponding measurement concepts are developed. The team also supports the technical implementation of the design and the subsequent transfer to production.

Your Tasks
  1. Development of optical measurement systems for product qualification.
  2. Conceptual design of optical components in the visual, near, and far infrared range.
  3. Programming system components for automating measurement procedures and creating evaluation routines for data analysis.
  4. Calculation and simulation of electro-optical performance parameters, electro-optical systems, and cameras.
  5. Evaluation and selection of measurement principles and methods.
  6. Commissioning and optimization of measurement systems and optical components.
  7. Acceptance testing of optical and opto-electronic systems.
  8. Analysis and optimization of process sequences.
  9. Collaboration in creating system specifications and acceptance documents.
  10. Working closely with specialist departments and suppliers throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.
Your Profile
  • Degree in physics, engineering, optics, optoelectronics, or mechatronics, ideally with a focus on optical measurement technology or similar.
  • Several years of experience in developing and realizing optical or measurement systems in the VIS, SWIR, and IR ranges.
  • Solid experience with optical metrology methods such as interferometry, spectrometry, infrared metrology, and photo-radiometry.
  • Proficiency in MatLab and/or Python for system automation.
  • High commitment and assertiveness.
  • Good communication skills and a responsible work ethic.
  • Fluent in German and English.
