Jobbeschreibung

Development Engineer for FPGA based protocol embedding (m/f)

dSPACE is the global market leader and innovator of hardware and software solutions for embedded controller software development in Automotive, Aerospace and Manufacturing industries.

Founded in Germany in 1988 today dSPACE employs over 2,800 dedicated people worldwide, who are committed to making the embedded controls software development process efficient through innovative tools and services.

For our office in Zagreb dSPACEis looking for creative and motivated professionals.

About the position

Are you enthusiastic about the topic of electromobility? Do you want to work on innovative projects at the intersection of hardware and virtualization and are eager to play an active role in shaping new solutions for safeguarding and simulating multicell batteries? As a Development Engineer (m/f) for FPGA-based embedding, all opportunities are open to you at dSPACE.

Our customers rely on dSPACE Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulators to test future battery management systems (BMS). As a development engineer in the field of electromobility, you will work on solutions for simulating the communication interface for networking multi-cell battery clusters. The focus is on FPGA implementation for the simulation of dedicated serial bus systems as used by current battery management systems. The simulator takes over the role of one or more communication participants and allows not only the pure residual bus simulation but also the manipulation of the communication to test e.g. fault tolerance and borderline cases in a safe and reproducible way. You work in a team and are responsible for implementing and securing simulations of specific communication controllers.

Your Tasks
  • Developing FPGA models of specific BMS controller types based on the given data sheet
  • Functional validation of model behaviour against physical hardware, log files, specific requirements and other functions
  • Participating in design reviews and continuously improving modelling methodologies
  • Documenting work clearly and concisely for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Active support of the engineering service for the market introduction of new derivatives for the simulation of specific controller types
  • Processing of support requests (internal/external) as well as technical evaluation of requirements for functional support of product management
  • Successive assumption of product responsibility for dedicated controller types
Your Qualifications
  • Successfully completed technical or scientific studies (bachelor’s in electrical engineering, technical computer science, or related field)
  • Experience with model-based development under MATLAB/Simulink
  • Solid understanding of digital systems and hardware modelling
  • Knowledge around serial bus systems like SPI, SSI, or similar
  • Experience with FPGA programming is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and independent way of working
  • Customer orientation, strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
What We Offer
  • Work-life balance (no official cell phones - we are not available after working hours; flexible working hours; possible work from home)
  • Work in an organized and motivated team of employees with help and support of leaders
  • 6-month onboarding with the support of a mentor
  • Additional internal and external trainings
  • Our benefits package includes paid compensation for transport costs, paid meal allowance, paid kindergarten costs, Easter bonus, vacation bonus, Christmas bonus, compensation for the Croatian tourist card (Cro card), child allowance, additional health insurance covering comprehensive annual medical examination, more favourable price for a gym membership, annual bonus depending on the results
